Otium from Pakistan was awarded an Innovation Grant (IG) to implement the project “PlasteTech-PK: Revolutionising Plastic Waste Management”

The project aims to reduce plastic consumption and waste generation through sustainable waste management practices and awareness campaigns, facilitate the collection and sale of plastic waste to divert it from landfills. It also aims to intercept plastic waste before it enters the environment by utilising a digital platform for collection and sorting, establish waste collection and recycling centres, and collaborate with the informal waste sector. Additionally, PlasteTech-PK will promote the redesign of plastic products and new industry standards via its mobile application, fostering the creation of new materials through recycled plastic trade and innovating plastic waste management.
