Chakra Suthra from Sri Lanka was awarded an Innovation Grant (IG) to implement the project ‘Use of Trash2Cash Smart Technologies to Change Consumer Behavior and Enhance the Collection of Recyclable Plastics’

Their project, will focus on implementing an innovative collection system featuring smart bins, an app-based home collection service, and local community micro-entrepreneurs alongside mini material recovery facilities. The initiative will also involve the training and resourcing of the micro entrepreneurs, especially women from the local community who will be custodians of the smart bins and carry out functions similar to a mini MRF.
