Green Roads was awarded the Innovation Grant to implement sustainable solutions for tackling plastic waste in Bhutan.

As part of the innovation grant their project ‘The Green Initiative to Reduce Plastic Pollution” will focus on supplying materials (Soft Plastics) to plastic roads, producing flower pots, and setting up a production line for flower pots and creating 3D printing filaments from recycled plastic, supporting the local 3D printing industry.

The Green Road is Bhutan’s first and only company in Bhutan that utilises waste plastics in blacktopping roads. Since its inception in 7th October 2014, the company has blacktopped 158 kms of roads and reused 842 tons of waste plastics.
