The RIVER+ project is strengthening its commitment to decent work by supporting 500 Informal Waste Workers (IWWs) with essential protections. Through its gender-responsive “Her Safety” intervention, the project improved conditions at two waste centers, addressing critical workplace needs for women. Srijana Devi at Shrijanshil Trades, shared how small changes made a big difference: “We used to wash mineral water bottles found in the trash just to have something to drink from, now with proper bottles and lunch containers, it’s so much safer and healthier.”
