The Bhutan Ecological Society and Gross International Nature (GIN) recently collaborated with members of the Royal Bhutan Police to promote environmental awareness and waste management within the community. As part of their initiative, 75 waste bins branded with the PLEASE project logo were distributed across the community to encourage proper waste disposal.
Along with the distribution of these bins, community members were educated on waste literacy, learning the importance of waste segregation and the environmental benefits of recycling and upcycling. With this knowledge, the community members are now committed to collecting and segregating their waste, working closely with GIN to ensure that recyclable materials are properly processed, recycled and upcycled, further contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable Bhutan.
