Save a Life has advanced its commitment to environmental sustainability by establishing a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in the Jaffna District. This initiative emerged as an outcome of their actions taken under the PLEASE project, including a series of successful beach clean-up campaigns conducted across coastal areas. During these events, large quantities of PET bottles were collected and sent for recycling, creating awareness about plastic pollution and responsible waste management.

Building on these achievements, Save a Life, with the support of local authorities, has initiated the Jaffna Recycling Hub MRF to strengthen community-based waste management and promote a circular economy. The new MRF will serve as a central point for sorting, collecting, and recycling PET bottles, contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Jaffna.
