The PLEASE Project recently conducted a seven-day Women’s Entrepreneurship Training for participants from Kirtipur Municipality Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4, equipping women aged 29 to 50 with essential skills in business planning and financial management. The training was organized by the Centre for Integrated Urban Development (CIUD), one of the innovation grantees of the PLEASE Project.
During the session, participants worked in small groups to develop business concepts, culminating in a pitching session evaluated by a jury from CIUD and Kirtipur Municipality. After a thorough assessment, Group B was selected to establish the “Plastic Recycling and Upcycling Centre”, utilizing municipality-provided infrastructure and innovative technologies from the PLEASE Project.
This initiative highlights the PLEASE Project’s commitment to fostering economic empowerment and sustainable waste management, enabling women to drive positive environmental and social change within their communities.
