Centre for Integrated Urban Development from Nepal was awarded an Innovation Grant (IG) to implement the project “Using Innovative Technology to Establish Plastic-Managed Communities and the Rivers in Kirtipur Municipality and Adjacent Wards of Neighboring Municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley”

The project’s goal is to fill the gaps in recycling plastics and prevent them from being discarded, as well as to prevent open burns or leaking into the environment even after a series of uses. It will not encourage the use of plastics by promoting greater recycling, but it will extend collecting post consumer plastics and recycling services from nearby communities and towns long after the project is completed.

Established in 2002, the Centre for Integrated Urban Development (CIUD) is an NGO committed to advancing people-centred urban development in Nepal. CIUD’s mission is to advocate for and implement cutting-edge methodologies and technologies that foster vibrant, productive, participatory, and sustainable cities across the country.Visit Centre for Integrated Urban Development for more information
