The Department of Applied Sciences and Chemical Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University, an innovation grantee of the PLEASE Project in Nepal, successfully conducted a series of programs on plastic waste management and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).

From December 2 to 6, 2024, a community awareness program was held at the project site in Shikhar Municipality, Doti, educating 59 local residents on plastic waste management, environmental safety, and PSEA awareness. The event, inaugurated by Mayor Dirgha Bahadur Balayar, fostered strong community participation.

Building on this initiative, a one-day workshop was organized on February 18, 2025, at Pulchowk Campus, Kathmandu, bringing together professors, grantee members, staff, and female employees. Expert presentations by Prof. Dr. Bindu Pokharel and Neelam Sharma led to engaging discussions on workplace safety and gender-based violence prevention.

These initiatives underscore Tribhuwan University’s commitment to sustainability, safety, and gender equality in Nepal.
